paranoia-inducing top

is it me?

i'm paranoid walking along the corridors at the office. today is friday, dress-down day. you may call it "civilian" in elementary, "wash day" in high school, or simply "casual", if you think you're not smart enough to go "smart casual". whoever invented that term must be laughing at us for picking such a nonsense adjective to describe the way you'd dress up. i use the term nevertheless.

anyways, i've seen people wear tshirts, sando, shorts and slippers to the office. sometimes even jogging pants and sweatshirts. i came to the office wearing the usual jeans and a pair of tong slippers, and a shoulder strap top. i'm starting to dress like a true-blue Floridian.

most of the time i run into somebody, they look down, or look the other way (like to their left when i'll be walking by their right side), or just look someplace else but my direction. only a handful looked me in the eye to say hello. others just establish eye contact for a second, nods, then looks down. what is wrong? is my top that ugly to become an eye-sore?

then i realized, it must be the amount of skin exposed. while i see other people dressed "scantily" like me, maybe they are getting the same reactions from people. i wouldn't dare ask them though, so that will remain a mystery.

i just used my blue speedo zip-up sweater/jacket that i usually leave in the office. it doesn't coordinate well with my floral and sort-of-shimmery sheer-y top. but i will have to do with it than get a memo for sexual harassment or improper attire. hehe!
