i'm not big on electronic gadgets. the biggest, and probably the only, electronic buy i've had in my life to date is a 5.0 Casio Exilim digicam, and that's it. that digicam is now with my bro, i gave it to him before leaving for US.

my mama gave me a walkman in elementary. she bought me a cassette player boom-box style (yep, the big ones that hip people carry along the street, dancing to 80's disco music), also in elementary. my then-friend-now-my-hubby gave me a discman once upon a time, and i wasn't really a CD person then so it just collected dust on my cabinet, until it won't work anymore. mama made me carry a pager (she paid for it) and her jurassic fridge-huge cellphone (she also paid for it) in my first 2 years of college. she also bought me a laptop when we went to japan, only to realize i don't have much of a need for it anymore because i just graduated from college. hehehe! i don't even get to buy a thumb drive for myself, i was given one as a Christmas gift when i was in Ohio!

my phones are usually hand-me-downs from my mama. i remember putting rubber band on my tri-band 8890 phone to keep the face plate from falling off, because i have no plans of replacing it until it dies a natural death. you won't believe me, it's still alive as of this writing. face plate is now Mighty-Bonded to the unit itself. but thank goodness, i got a free phone from the service provider, so i'm using a different model now.

lately, since yesterday to be exact, i'm interested in mp3 players. i can't find a good reason to splurge on one. first, we have a surround sound setup at home. second, we have high-power speakers and ampli connected to our pc. third, my car has a nice sound system. fourth, i don't usually listen to music while i work, i lose concentration. and fifth, i don't go to recreational places like the gym, the park or wherever, alone. i would rather have a conversation (or trash talk) with my husband than listen to music that only i can hear anyways. so everywhere i go, either i have a decent sound system, or i don't need (or want) one.

but they all look so hip and cool and nice and tiny. never mind the price, for a second electronic buy, i'd say i'm willing to spend up to $100. i don't need the high-end ones, just something that works and is nice to hold and look at. another reason why i'm so interested, is that last December, i got one for my brother at around $100. now, the same unit is being sold for $65. imagine how cheap it is now! if i could wait another month maybe, it might be at $50 each.

oh well. i just have to remember what my priorities are. and i have to remember it's just a "craving", it will pass. if it won't, well, a second buy isn't that bad at age 26.
