red, white and blue, stars over you

our company's HR comes up with all sorts of gimmicks to foster team spirit. last week, we received an email saying that Wednesday (June 28) is "red, white and blue day". if you come to the office wearing an outfit with all those colors, you get free lunch.

this morning, the newbie, still panting from his running up the stairs, asked me in his what-is-wrong-with-everybody tone, "isn't today the red, white and blue day?". and yes, he's wearing blue jeans and a white shirt with bright red and blue prints on it. hehehe! it screams "America!". it's only Tuesday.

he sent me an email afterwards, saying he'll just sulk in his cube today. he's too embarassed to go down the cafeteria to get something to eat. he's obviously after the free lunch. hehehe! =P

i just find it funny, coz he said he even marked it on his calendar in Outlook, but he obviously marked the wrong day. he's the only one wearing jeans and shirt in the office today, everybody else is in business attire... pressed pants, long sleeves, ties and the works. and true enough, he hasn't gotten up since he got here this morning. i know, coz i've only been to the restroom thrice, and those 3 instances, he's talking with his teammate. hehehe!

i wanted to push him a little further by asking if he'll wash the shirt right away when he gets home. hehehe! =P
