smokin' 'n bowlin'
i've been "complaining" that i'm spending most of my time in the office idle. i think the gods must've heard my desperate cries. yeah, right.
i'm a busy bee lately, not much with work, but with coordinating events to attend to. tomorrow, i will be attending a smoking cessation workshop, sponsored by the American Lung Association. they are promoting the workshop to companies who are interested. of course, our hyperactive HR signed up our company. =P although i quit smoking years ago, i feel like i'm doing a good deed here. you see, the workshop won't push through if there will be less than 10 participants. as of this morning, only 8 were signed up. so i signed up. =D if not for myself, at least for the 8 folks who are really determined to break the habit. and besides, i get free pizza and soda!
then after work, also tomorrow, we have bowling practice. i joined a fund-raising bowling tournament for Junior Achievement Foundation. this foundation gives scholarships to deserving children. the aim of the team is to raise the most money, not get the highest score. so although i average around 60-70 pins per game, i joined the team. i'm with ate may, and the half-pinoy, jon. it will be fun, it's been a while since i last joined an event for a cause. we are competing against other companies , by the way. so most probably, we will also get the management and employees' support. we will just kind of represent the company. i think it's cool, besides the free lunches, free tshirts, free anik-aniks. =)
i'm taking advantage of the fact that i'm not yet as busy as my other teammates. although work is keeping me occupied as well, i still consider myself "petiks" compared to my other teammates who work 12 hours a day, and still report on weekends.
i am getting there, but not too soon. i hope.
