search is over, 2011 it is
hubby je's hunt for the elusive brand new 2010 Sienna model proved futile.
he went through all the listings online, and called the dealers to ask about the ones for sale:
- the one near us wasn't really for sale, it wasn't taken out of their inventory listing, pero ginagamit na lang palang pang-service yon.
- the one in tampa was a used one. well, a floor model to be exact, with just 3,000 miles on it. but then, it's the one used for test driving, so i'd imagine it had endured sudden brakes, speed limits, sudden turns, etc. something that the buyers will "abuse" before they buy their own. so we thought, we'd pass on this one.
- the one in orlando has 8 available, but not for sale but for rent only. sayang, pinakamarami pa namang choices yon.
we stopped looking at Honda Odyssey dahil it's more expensive. their 2010 model is about the same price as Toyota's 2011. since we're spending the same amount naman, might as well get the latest one. Honda's 2011 is $3000 more than Toyota's 2011. so instead of just spending $3000 more than our original budget, going for Honda will actually cost us $6000 more!
so, it's kind of a no-brainer.it's either Toyota 2010, or Toyota 2011, or Honda 2010, or Honda 2011, in that order. i think we're gonna stop at option # 2. last night, we started looking at the specs of Sienna 2011. it looks promising. we might buy towards the end of November. sakto, sana may Thanksgiving Sale. hehehe!
