mentee-less
next week, the mentoring sessions officially start again.
unfortunately, i don't know when i'll be seeing my mentee again.
she went on a vacation to Chile. i was able to email her and she replied with pics of her going places, meeting family and friends. then i stopped receiving emails.
i texted her thinking maybe she is back in the US and just busy with the start of the school year and everything. but i received a reply that the number doesn't belong to any "michelle".
i got more worried when the mentoring coordinator emailed me asking if i've heard from michelle yet. apparently, she's not even in the student list for this school year.
nalungkot ako. =(
i know her parents have recently separated, her mom deciding to stay in FL and her dad in Chile. maybe they've decided that michelle will stay with her dad. i know michelle wouldn't choose that if it were up to her, because her bf is here in FL.
*sigh* i hope she is ok, wherever she is. and i hope she would reply to my email soon. i understand situations like this, she's still technically a kid, and chilean culture is similar to ours, the parents have the final say. but at least, knowing she is safe and ok, that would be enough for now.
