thanks mareng-Tenten-na-wala-nang-tonsils
oh yes, you read it right! after an on-and-off-tonsilitis, our kada's official chocolate lover (finally) lost her tonsils to a major operation. she was lying on the operating table while geri was at the altar taking her vow to be raymond's better half. =P
i just received word from her. and i felt a little lump form on my throat when i read through her email. ulk! that must've hurt... and the aftermath hurts more.. no solid food or warm food for a few days. one of the things i cannot stand with respect to food, is when it's cold. unless it's cold cuts, ice cream or something that was really supposed to be eaten cold or frozen, i would want it warm. and no solid food! it's like she went back to cerelac or something like that. hehehe! what a price to pay for a few moments of bliss with chocolates. *swallows hard*
actually, tenten was not the only chocoholic in the kada, there's also Ple. but heaven knows how much chocolate tenten has consumed in her lifetime to date, that she needs to have her tonsils removed. and i know chocolate is not the only culprit, we are also fond of sundaes, ice cream, fraps... name anything cold and sweet, we probably have it on our favorites list. how come i still have my tonsils? well, simply because i'm not as much a chocoholic as tenten. although medical findings might not point it's fingers at chocolates and cold drinks as causes of tonsilitis, i still adhere to my parents' wisdom that it's best to avoid them, to avoid tonsilitis. =P
i just can't be a doctor, it's a hard realization after reading tenten's blow-by-blow account of her operation day. good thing she didn't remember anything at the OR. the pre-op and post-op are enough to make me feel weak in the knees. one interesting account though, is that her bf, our best man rommel, gave blood to be transfused into her, since she was having some problem with blood clotting stuff. so now, officially, she has rommel's blood running through her veins! although a little gross (hehehe!), i think it was one of the sweetest things i've heard! =) not many guys are willing to step up for their girls in this way. which affirms my claim that tenten and i are women to be envied for finding such wonderful partners!!! well, ok, include geri, anshe and janey too, hehe!
anyways, the other part of the title of this blog is "thanks". a few days before she had her operation, i asked for her help in getting geri and raymond a gift. she gave me the link of regalong pambahay, and we chose from the items there. then she took care of everything!!! hassle-free! it's service better than amazon.com's. imagine tenten on a taxi, on the way to glorietta, with big and heavy boxes of gifts. hehehe! i could just imagine her struggle with those boxes, at the same time trying to keep composure. mwehe! =P
it was great that geri liked the gifts. tenten's efforts were not in vain. ;-) but maybe next time, if there will be another one, we should just opt for a card. hahaha! =P
mareng tenten, thanks for going through all the trouble talaga! je and i owe you (another) one... our list just goes on and on, we might find it hard to repay you na.... how about some chocolates? ;-)

Happy Happy Birthday, B-Harbs. So how are you celebrating your bday? :-)
Wow, I'm a chocoholic din. There are days when I would eat chocolates (or anything with chocolates in them), ice cream, cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Shucks, delikado pala tonsils ko. :-P
Wow! It's rare to find a "personal shopper" like you did in Tenten. :-) Ok yun ah!
