30 mins a day, and a duh-incident

i'm trying to fit in my pants again. or at least be able to wear my jeans and not have to look at my purple toes. *lol*

ok, maybe it's not that bad, but still. i don't want to encourage my weight gain by buying new outfits one size bigger. but i also don't want to go on a starvation diet. i need the nutrients to be able to think. starvation diets and my name don't go well. and i read somewhere that starvation diets only lead to binge eating. there goes my excuse. hehe!

hubby je was able to lose 40 lbs on a friggin' wii fit. i can do it too! but i am very lazy in popping up the wii fit and getting into that routine.

so. i'm setting aside 30 mins a day to get on the elliptical and exercise. i HAVE to watch tv while on it. the first time i got on the monster machine, i almost collapsed after only 20 mins. i was watching every tick of the second on the digital timer. haha!

yesterday and today, i'm watching tv while moving my butt. yesterday i watched a subtitled Italian movie (hubby je was lying on the couch, humphf!). today i watched a football game that went overtime. so far, the distraction is working. i get on a grove and before i know it, the timer beeps and i only have to cool down. sweeeet!

now, if only i can keep up with the routine. hehe!

speaking of starvation diet.

a couple of weeks ago, i was on the lunch line at the cafeteria. there's a couple of model-thin girls in front of me, and they were picking weeds at the salad section while chatting about some movie i can't remember. they have small plates. probably a few romaine leaves, a few cherry tomatoes, some slices of cucumber, a few olives, a wedge of dill pickle, and probably one more type of some leaf. there's hardly anything on it. and they weren't generous with the vinaigrette either.

my gulay, that's all they're gonna eat for lunch?

Girl 1 reaches over to the bacon bits, took a teaspoonful and sprinkled it on her salad plate.
Girl 2 gasps and inquires, "you're on a vegan diet right?".
Girl 1 pokes her nose in the air as she declares, "oh, i don't consider bacon a meat".

and that, my friends, is why i don't want to deprive my brain of the nutrients provided by real food.

    can't believe ur actually gaining weight. diba dati hirap ka rin mag gain? what is happening!?

    but the small plate thing is something adviced by experts when you're trying to lose weight.. =)

    40lbs sa wii fit? gano katagal each day? and how long did it take to lose 40lbs?

    kami ni oneal.. yung 10minute trainer yung ginagawa namin.. =) coz of the work and house stuff, we need something that works that uses up very little time.. hehe.. sabi nga nung trainer sa video.. 10 minutes na lang yan.. so wala ka ng excuse.. hahaha! =D

    so far oneal lost 15lbs in less than 2 months.. not bad na din =)

    nag-step aerobics lang si je sa wii fit. 1 hour every day, for a month ata. well, nag-diet din sya... less rice, more veggies and fruits.

    gewi, i can't believe it either! i was only 98 lbs when i got here, now i'm at 128 lbs and climbing! my goal is to look seksey in a bathing suit for december. demmit. =P

  • ay, i meant to say, 1 hour for a month, then 45 mins every day for the next 2 months. but all in all, it took him 3 months to shed off the 40 lbs. galing no? he wore ankle weights, and naka-jogging pants sya kaya tagaktak talaga ang pawis. =P
