ups and downs and mommy letty's driving skills
i'm stuck at home right now, suffering from a stupid flu. demmit. i hate being sick.
i guess the past weeks have finally caught up with me.
my nose is stuffed, i can't breathe. when i cough, my head throbs and it hurts like hell. i have a slight fever and my body aches. it's been a while since i got sick like this.
oh well, kuwento na lang ako about mommy letty's trip to FL. i started this draft a few days ago. i was still in high spirits and not sick at all. =P
mommy letty, tito humphrey, tita rose and my cousins were here for vacay...
weekend 1
friday night, may finishing touches pa si je sa pininturahan nyang kisame. then saturday morning, naglinis pa kami ng kotse at nagligpit ng konting kalat sa bahay.
dumating relatives ko ng saturday lunch time. kumain na lang kami sa labas, tapos pahinga sa bahay sandali. then mommy letty started cooking everything! 4 kilos morcon, 2 kilos kare-kare, 2 kilos embutido, 2 kilos dinuguan at 9 na lanera ng leche flan. gusto nya talaga akong ipagluto eh, ifreezer ko na lang daw para di masira agad. ayon, kahit tubig na malamig, di na namin malagay sa fridge at freezer ngayon. haha! and to think na binigyan ko na yung mga in-laws ko ng ulam ha. sooobrang fiesta talaga! hehehe! nakakapagod din pala maghiwa ng sangkap, at shempre assistant din ako. by the time matapos kami, ang sakit ng talampakan ko. kakatayo sa kitchen. hehe!
then saturday night, nag-night out kami ng pinakamatanda kong insan, si Hendryx. 19 pa lang sya kaya di kami pinapapasok sa mga bars. we ended up bar hopping the entire 4 blocks sa Ybor City. pero kahit 1 di kami pinapasok. haha! nauwi kami sa inuman sa bahay. nag-experimento kami sa tequila. natulog kami 4am na kasi gumigising na si mommy letty namin. *lol* masarap pala ang tequila with sarsi, or with mango+passion fruit juice! hehe!
paggising ko ng linggo, may hangover ako. di ata ako uminom ng maraming tubig eh. anyways, around lunch time ng linggo, nagpunta na kaming Busch Gardens. as usual, lakaran galore! pero natuwa naman ako kay mommy... inarkila ko kasi sya nung motorized na seat instead of a wheelchair eh. grabe, nananagasa! haha! tuwang-tuwa naman sya dun sa motorized seat. gusto nya daw bumili non, tinatanong na ko kung papano mapapa-ship sa pinas. *lol* i'll post her video.
sa busch gardens, halos lahat ng rides sinakyan namin but Gwazi. ayos lang din, ayaw naman nila don eh. pero yung Sheikra, grabe gustong gusto nila. 2 consecutive times kaming sumakay, first time sa pinakaharap, second time sa pinakadulo. sabi ni Hendryx, he's never been this scared sa buhay nya. hehehe! ilang beses ko na rin nasakyan yun, pero every single time, nalulula pa rin ako. it was interesting to note that after the skydiving stunt we did, this rollercoaster still sends me screaming. hehehe!
the park closes at 7pm, sinagad talaga namin. pagod at gutom, kumain na lang kami sa Chili's. we can't wait na magsaing pa, at pagod na rin kami para magluto pa. hehe!
work week
monday, i left home as late as possible so i can spend more time with my folks. habang nasa office ako, nilinis ng mga insan ko yung bahay while mommy letty's barking orders at them. hehe! pagdating ko ng lunch time, they are leaving for orlando na. we said our good byes, then they're gone.
a few days later, nagkita kami sa orlando. nakitulog ako sa hotel nila, which is a suite sa Marriott hotel! chuchal! kinabukasan, nag-almusal lang kami, then nag-Universal Studios kami. sakay kami sa roller coasters, The Mummy (twice), The Simpsons, Disaster, MIB, and the newest rollercoaster, RockIt. ang cool! you get to pick the song that will play while you're on the ride. there are speakers on your headrest kaya parang nagsa-sound trip ka lang while riding the coaster. it was fun! if there lines weren't that freakin' long, i would ride it again! hehehe!
after that, kain kaming dinner sa Golden Corral. mommy letty and the rest were impressed with the wide variety of food available. ako naman parang so-so lang. kasi nakakain na ko don dati, and i've been to another buffet na mas maraming choices and unlimited sashimi and sushi! now THAT impresses me. ehehe!
after dinner, uwi lang kami sa hotel, nagpahinga ako, then i drove back home to hubby je.
weekend 2
saturday morning, hubby je and i drove to jacksonville past 9am na. we got there after about 3 hours. we couldn't check into the hotel because the rooms were under tito humphrey's name. so sige na nga, sibat na lang kami after kong tarayan yung front desk clerk. hehe!
we went to the basketball tournament, had an overpriced lunch of sahog-less pansit bihon and pork barbecue. then we watched my cousins' games.
actually, uneventful naman yung tournament. it's our side trips that are pretty eventful. in between games, hubby je and i took mommy letty out to Dairy Queen, to Hooters, to Panera Bread. nagustuhan nya rin yung Panda Express. hehe!
fast forward to sunday, more basketball games... my cousin Hurmyn's team got as far as the championship, but they lost. it was a good game though. hehe! we stayed for the awarding ceremonies which was unbelievably delayed. by the time Hurmyn's team was awarded their tropies, it's time to go home.
so after our goodbyes, we drove to hubby je's tita and spent about an hour there. watching tv, chatting and freshening up.
then we headed home. one our way, nagutom kami, so hanap kami ng makakainan. madaling araw na to. buti na lang may Denny's na 24 hours. we had super early breakfast, then got back on the road. i fell asleep halfway the trip, and i woke up na malapit na sa bahay namin. wawa naman si hubby je, walang kausap habang nagdadrive ng madaling araw.
all in all, it was a pretty hectic past 2 weekends. pag weekday naman, i was plowing along sa deadlines ko.
maybe all these combined actually caused my immune system to let its guard down. hubby je got sick after the first weekend pa lang. gumaling sya halfway through the work week. ako naman, after the second weekend na... and i even survived 2 days of work before i finally called it quits. i can't come to the office like this and expect to function well. ayoko rin manghawa.
kawawa nga lang yung isang teammate ko. mag-isa lang syang natira. there's 5 of us originally sa team. one was fired. one is on a month-long vacation. 2 of us called in sick. and only 1 got into the office. tsk tsk. wawa naman. hehehe!
