canon sd700 is it is!

i took the big leap and bought the Canon SD700 IS (IXUS 800) last night from amazon, without even seeing the model "in person" yet. call me crazy, but since i read reviews about it being the better among the SD series for its price, i can't seem to look at other models without comparing them to the sd700. i did see sd600 in the brick-and-mortar store though, and i just imagined it's gonna be almost the same except for what's inside.

this is my third big purchase so far. i thought it's going to be a laptop, i am now resolved to just wait for the thanksgiving sale for that. 2 digicams in 3 purchases. that tells a lot about how much i love taking pics. although i know nothing about photography, i know i like capturing moments. and i know i can appreciate a good shot when i see one.

i'm afraid i did an impulse-buy on this one. the digicam-hunt started barely a week ago. je and i were chit-chatting over dinner at Chili's, and the mere mention of the word "digicam" suddenly got my spending gears in action. i must confess i think about getting a new one everytime i use our current digicam and i max out the memory before the highlight of the event takes place, or when the battery runs out after just a few shots zooming in and out. it's just frustrating. the pics are decent, but there are times when i wish i could take more shots. it uses an xd card, which is so unbelievably expensive. another thing is, it's in japanese, so we haven't really utilized it to the max, since we can't read the manual! =P ok, i'm dissing our digicam because i want to replace it. hehehe! the thing that made it easier for me to decide to buy a new one is the fact that i didn't buy our current digicam. =P

i kept blaming hubby je for mentioning "digicam", but he claims he has nothing to do with me buying one. which is true. i just wanted to have someone to point my finger to, and he's the most accessible victim. hehe!

since my workload is cooperating with my "research" (read: just-right-busy, not insanely-busy), i've reached a decision in just a couple of days' time. and thanks to hubby je's amazon prime membership, the digicam will be delivered this wednesday! just enough time to play with it before we use it on our trip to NY on friday! wooo-hooo! am so excited!

just don't make me look at my bank account. it seems to have frozen at just 5 digits, the 2 decimal digits inclusive. :-

i skipped the weekend in my countdown! i was too busy cleaning the house, checking out good deals for cameras and memory cards, and reading reviews. hehehe! oh well.
