25 Harbiefacts
ok, so no one tagged me, but i find this fun...thinking of the 25 (interesting?) facts about myself, that not many people know about. nakita ko to sa blog ni erlyn eh. sino ba pwedeng ma-tag... geri, janey, ria, furness, caths, suzzy, anshe, leidan.
hmmmm...
1. i'm the first-born apo on both my mama and papa's side. needless to say, "spoiled" ako for 6 years until my brother was born. =P
2. the first song i learned to sing was "Ama Namin". galing no? ambait ko talagang bata. whatever happened? hehehe!
3. when i was a kid, i love it when i sit on mommy letty's (mama's mom) duster. yung in-between ng legs nya, kaya para akong nakaupo sa trono, with her legs as my arm rests. hehehehe! i would sit there and mommy letty would hum a song i never get to memorize.
4. in connection to number 3, my mommy letty would give me "piso" for every "kuto" na makukuha nya sa ulo ko. i used to have that much kuto, but not much money. i thought i was gonna make a living out of it, pero may naimbentong shampoo eh. bummer. =P
5. when i was a kid, i love eating from my ina's (papa's mom) palms, literally. pag piniritong daing na bangus ang ulam, sinusubuan nya ko, nakakamay lang sya. lambot kasi ng kamay nya eh. =)
6. again with ina, i used to have my "pension" from her. every afternoon, she would pass by our house and give me 5 pesos. back then, that's a lot talaga! galante ng mga lola ko no!
7. unlike my mom, i'm not into bags and shoes and girly stuff. i only need 4 pairs of footwear: a black leather pair, sandals, rubber shoes, and girly sandals, preferrably with heels. as for the bags, as long as my wallet and a cellphone would fit in, it's a perfect bag for me. hehehe!
8. i learned to differentiate colors when i was 8 months old.
9. pre-teens years... i used to be a part of a dance group that competes during fiestas. yes!! we were the 4-time-champs sa barangay namin, until nagdalaga na yung mga kasama ko. hehehe! unlike now, the fiesta dance competitions before doesn't involve tumbling, contortionist exhibitions, flame-eating members or the famous throw-em-in-the-air stunts. pure talent lang dati, hehehe! and our prizes include a free "nameless" cheeseburger and zest-o. hahahaha!
10. about food, my favorite sandwich spread is tuna, and i loooove baked macaroni. i don't eat champorado unless my mama cooked it. hehehe!
11. i really love my bro. when he was just a few months old, i wrote on our bedroom wall "Harbie love Eibron" and enclosed it on a biiiiig distorted heart. my parents painted that area white, but our wall was in off-white or cream. hehehe! i remember the exact spot where i wrote it, kaya lang nirenovate yung bahay namin eh. i should've saved that wall. hehehe!
12. i am veeeery athletic...NOT! i joined the class volleyball team in junior year high school because of the uniform. hehehe! well, i never get to hit an incoming ball, and was actually the target of our opponents whenever i'm on court. Gladys and Janelle will always "cover" for me. i only learned volleyball in college PE. mweheheh!
13. i took swimming lessons with my mama just this year, 2005! we both didn't know how to swim, so we mustered enough courage to enroll ourselves in swimming classes. we had a blast learning how to swim. =D my mama was the faster learner, but she tires easily, so i learned better, out of practice. hehehe!
14. my papa told me almost everything i know about driving. he shared his wisdom, and i feel like i could pass for a jeepney driver. hehe! he was the one who told me that i should take the middle of 2 lanes (making it a single-lane road) when someone is trying to push me sideways. it never fails. =D
15. during the last few (2 or 3?) years in elementary, i hate being in pictures. i'd rather shoot the pics than be in the pic. now i loooove both. dunno why i had that episode before. =P
16. i yawn whenever i'm nervous. this is weird. hehehe!
17. i am more comfortable working with old people than those younger. even with beggars, i pity the old, and blame the parents of the young kids. =P i feel like the oldies were cheated. they could've done at least one good thing in their lives, and yet nobody is repaying them. as for the kids, i feel like they have a long way to go to change. twisted reasoning. hehehe!
18. i have more than a hundred original poems, short verses, stories and other literary stuff, even haikus, hehehe! i was inspired to write back in high school and early part of college. the last piece i wrote was dated 2004.
19. i was born 1980, but i'm not into 80's music. some of them remind me of the times when i don't wanna go to school. hehehe!
20. i had a stationery and sticker collection when i was a kid. CareBears, Smurfs, Hello Kitty, Garfield, Little Twin Stars, Felix the Cat, Kerrokerrokerroppi (tama ba sfelling?), name it, i have it! may trading pa kami ng mga kada ko noon. hehehe! pag may doble sa collection namin, ipapalit namin sa kung ano ang wala kami. hehehe!
21. i started driving when i was 18 years old. the first time na nabangga ako, out of stupidity. i was driving an automatic, but i'm used to a stick shift. i thought i was in "1st gear" when in fact, i was in reverse. i didn't feel the car moving so i hit the gas. wham! nabangga ko yung jeep sa likod ko. hehehe!
22. i always have a beer during New Year's Eve. sort of customary for me, kasi New Year's Eve ako unang nakatikim ng beer eh. hehehe!
23. mabilis akong ginawin. sa office namin dati, ako lang ata nagdadala ng winter jacket don. hehehe!
24. kabagin ako. hehehe! ever since i was a kid, sabi ni mama bawal akong mahamugan kasi siguradong kakabagin ako. ngayon, alam ko na pano i-prevent yon, at lagi na kong may baon na efficascent oil or manzanilla. hehehe! it's part of my first aid kit. =P
25. i can't grow my nails long. pag mahaba na, i start chewing on it, or nasusugatan ko sarili ko, or simply nababali lang sya kasi di ko alam na sasabit pala sa mga bagay-bagay. =P i only had 3 manicures in my whole life... first was an experiment, second was for a dance competition in the office, third was my wedding. =D
