getting ready for pistoy's first trip!
nakakuha na ko ng bakasyon sa dec! dec.8 to jan.6 ako off... lilipad muna kami pa-NY on dec.8, then dec.9 kami lilipad pa-Pinas.
something rings a bell? yes, sa mismong bday ni pistoy, nasa airport kami! *lol* dala ng matinding difference sa ticket prices, we're taking the latest date na pinaka-ok pa ang price. once kasi piliin namin yung dec.10 (just the day after), the ticket prices go up by $600 each! that's $1200 for me and je na agad! aba, pang-bday party na rin ni pistoy yon ah.
so we'll just pick a nice spot sa airport, bring a cupcake (or a very small cake), and celebrate there. around 2pm yung flight na ibo-book namin eh, tapos 12:55pm yung mismong birth "time" ni pistoy.
nung una parang nae-ewan ako. first ever bday, nasa galaan?! i wanted to fly earlier, like dec.7 or 8. pero pag ganon naman, baka sa eroplano pa kami abutan ng bday nya. =P at which timezone?! *lol*
so anyway, we're just waiting on our credit cards to reflect the available credit limit. baka bukas mag-book na kami. we really need to get this done soon. the more i think about it, the more i am stressing out. at isa pa, kasabay namin sila mama't papa pabalik ng US sa january, so we have to make sure we could book 4 seats at the price we wanted. baka magkaubusan na.
excited na ko! tatawag na ko sa airline bukas to get the info sa paglipad ni pistoy. the good thing is 1 year old sya sakto sa flight. sana may special treatment. hehehe!

in airline lingo, "seat" refers to a seat spot on the plane. =) pag international, may bayad ang infants with or without a seat. pag domestic, libre lang pag walang seat, pero pag gusto mong meron, bayad ka na. =)
i haven't asked about the extra gas mask ah, tsaka yung pre-boarding. i know sa PAL they do pre-boarding pag buntis, elders or with kids. sana ganon din sa Cathay Pacific. isa pang itatanong ko yung car seat kung pwede sa plane. we might be using a different car seat by then, malapit na umabot si pistoy sa weight limit nung gamit nya ngayon eh. =P
fun fact, nakalagay sa "meal" nung nagbobook ako ng tickets, "baby meal" yung kay pistoy. hehe!
i will take note of our experience janey, para may konting "what-to-expect" guide kayo for eidan. hehe! he will be much older than pistoy by the time he travels, so hopefully it gets easier for you guys. ;-) but we'll never know. babies are so full of surprises. heheh! Amen? =P

yup.. eidan will be much older by that time nga.. more mobile din.. nakikinita ko na *daydream sound effects* eidan's running up and down the eidan with the stewardess right behind him! lol!
mukhang mas mabigat na si pistoy kay eidan.. hahabol muna sa weight si kuya eidan, pistoy =) bago sya makipagwrestling sayo.. hehehe..
good job on making pistoy gain weight mama beng.. parang kelan lang namimili pa tayo ng type ng gatas.. =)

oo nga eh, sobrang bilis ng panahon! pistoy slowed down sa pag-gain na. nung pinanganak nasa 90th percentile ata sya. ngayon nasa 50th na lang. nakakatakot yung masyado syang bumigat eh, mas prone daw sa obesity.
anyway, naku going towards terrible two pala si eidan pag lumipad kayo! magdasal-dasal ka na janey. hahaha! walang tulugan yan sa flight nyo pag gising ang hari.

Most airline, pinapauna yung may special needs like may dalang bata, matatanda etc.
Regarding best seat, (para samin) yung front-most part ng airplane. mas malaki yung legroom nun plus if mag breastfeed ka, less yung makakakita. But you need to check with the model of airplane. Kasi pag andun yung fire exit, di pwede.
Regarding baby food, mostly bottled baby food yung binibigay. Tsug got a Gerber last time we flew PAL.
Tapos yung liquid, dito sa Asia ok lang yung mga para sa bata. Actually, nakakadala pa water ni tsug. Pero baka iba dyan sa US. Mas sensitive sila sa security.
For tip, bring lots of toys. Iba ibang yung reaction nung bata sa airplane. May nakasabay kami minsan na umiyak from Manila to SG. kawawa.

thanks for the tips pangs-ni-gewi! hehehe! i've been pushing "contact airlines" down my to-do list, but i really have to do it so we know what to expect.
sana talaga di umiyak si pistoy (masyado) sa flight. i'm also dreading the jetlag. buti na lang halos 1 month kami, kung 2 weeks lang, lalong kawawa. by the time he's adjusted, balik na sa US. hehe!
we plan on bringing his fave toys AND new toys. pag bago kasi ang laruan, nacu-curious pa si pistoy.
balak din namin dalhin yung portable crib nya. dunno kung makakatulong sa kanya to cope with being away from home eh.
