time travel and reality game shows
i watched the Back to the Future trilogy on DVD: part 2 yesterday, and parts 1 and 3 today. it was so nice to see those films again, when technical jargon is not that complicated, aside from the "space-time continuum" that Doc Brown constantly worries about. well, there might be several loopholes in the movie, but for all its worth, it was a really nice trilogy. not too big on effects and so simple a plot. i've seen some serious "recreations" of this movie in "The Butterfly Effect". i think time travelling really appeals to me that much. hehe!
part 1 is still my fave among the 3, but part 2 really got my brain-gears to work. hehehe! part 3, well, really not my type, but it gave out a nice conclusion which i really bought. =P
imagine going back to the time when your parents haven't met yet, and discover that your mom (or dad, for that matter) has the hots for you. you get to see how they were when they were young, and witness how they lived through their first crushes, first dates, peer pressure, school and other stuff. i myself couldn't imagine my folks when they were teenagers. i only hear stories from them, but what i learned from the movie, they just might be lying about their past "gimiks" to get you to listen to them as role models. hehehe!
how would it be if we could travel back in time? i wonder what date i'll go back to, and what events i will change. hmmmm....
i can't believe it! i just can't! je and i watched the Amazing Race episode last night. the Weaver family came in last, but it was a non-elimination round. whatdaf?! (excuse my French, hehehe!)
the reason why i don't like this family, is because they have this blind notion about being Christians. they talk about being good Christians all the time, but whenever there are chances, they try to outsmart the other teams in non-Christian ways. they provoke the other teams, but when they are getting back at, they recoil and claim they are the underdogs. the youngest even gave out a comment to some stranger cyclists that "you wish you were Lance Armstrong" or something like that... hello, di naman kayo inaano ng tao... like, what is wrong with you? there were even times when i think they are not playing fair, like telling some attendants not to help the teams behind them. they are so competitive, it's sickening. can't we all just have fun, people?
oh well, i took a full 5 minutes after the show ranting about it. so as per my hubby's advice, i'm writing down this blog to get it all out. hehehe! sowee if you guys are Weavers fans. i love the Gaghan and Paolo family, but now that they were out, i'm putting my bet on Linz or Godlewski families. till next episode!
