pinas vacay insights
we're back in the US after a month-long vacation sa Pinas. the last quarter of last year at work was a blur, and let me just say that if not for papa being here with us to help take care of pistoy and household stuff, i would've lost it. it was just crazy.
so as soon as i stepped out of the office last dec.6, i didn't look back. i only checked my work email a few times, to see if there's anything i need to submit for the year-end review. aside from those very few incidences, it's all vacation baby! =)
i have mixed feelings about the last vacation. it doesn't feel as long as it sounds. month-long! you'd think we'd run out of things to do. but since we have jecobie to keep us busy, it feels like the month just flew by as well. we had to time our gimiks around his nap and bed time, which means that it varies day to day. =P it depends on how tired he gets. he usually sleeps around noon, which means lunch gimiks extend a 3 hour period (we could be there as early as 11 am or as late as 2pm). his bed time in pinas also varies. at times he sleeps at 8pm, sometimes 10pm. when he's not too tired, we could take him out to a dinner gimik, he'll be entertained, and even fall asleep on the stroller, or the car on the way home. but there are also times when he gets cranky. we developed an instinct when to call "pack up". =P
we spent more time at home with family, than meeting with friends. so i apologize if we were missing in action sa mga gimik. =P there were times na iniiwan na lang namin si pistoy, just for the convenience, na we don't have a ticking time bomb with us. hehe! pistoy also got sick the first 2 weeks (sipon at ubo), that there were times it's wiser to leave him at home so he could rest. hubby je and i are still the ones "in-charge" at night. hindi na kayang magpuyat nila mama't papa eh. they could take care of jecobie all-day (minsan dinadala nila sa karapatan para mga insan ko ang mag-alaga), but at night, di sila makabangon to change his diaper or prep a bottle. it's still all good. =)
since hindi namin maiwan si pistoy for more than a day, hindi kami nakapag-lamyerda ni hubby je with our usual 3D/2N out-of-town trip. we planned on going someplace overnight man lang, but even that became a challenge logistically. hehe! so we just went out to dinner, had a few drinks, then went home. =P hopefully when jecobie gets a little older, we'll have that luxury again.
i will definitely miss my family. i mean, mama and papa are with us dito sa US ngayon, but bro was left behind to take care of stuff. he was pretty emotional on our last few days. gusto nya kasing makita si pistoy na lumalaki, but he can't be on vacation a long time dahil sa business nya. sana pumayag syang dito sa US mag-pasko this year. =)
mami-miss ko si yana. i can still hear her in my head yelling "pitoy! pitoy! pitoy! dede! pitoy!", "Palol!" (parol), and her famous "si Jetut o!" (Jesus). she is such an adorable kid! sana pag naka-little girl kami, katulad ni yana.
mami-miss ko rin si mommy letty. she requested na umuwi kami sa 75th bday nya sa March 2013. i promised her we will be there, by hook or by crook. and as early as now, i can't wait to come back home. mommy letty is not getting any younger. she's having trouble getting around na rin. i wish she will stay strong for several more years. she's been talking like she's just waiting for her 75th eh. Lord, please give her good health.
i plan on coming home every year, i'll try to sort out my finances to make it feasible. there's really no place like home.
