i recently discovered that my attention span is like that of a child, or maybe worse.

i was trying to read some documentation at the office, and i found myself reading the same paragraph for 30 minutes. is it just me or is the material really hard to understand? my mind wanders off before i can finish a sentence!

i found some parallelisms with the systems of my new company and the one in pinas. example:

• clearcase - merant version manager
• webstar - merant tracker
• webstar # - tracker request #
• spi # - SCRs
• webstar tickets - tracker issues
• applic.l - name.cpp
• applic.h - name.hpp
• makeall - buildall
• hirl - build
• intranet - portal

i'm not yet struggling, which is good. i think one more week and i will be ready to take on a simple assignment. the system was really complicated, concerned with point-of-sales, rewards (like the ones at SM, collecting points), printing discount coupons, redeeming coupons, at kung anu-ano pa. whenever i'm at the grocery, i never thought the things happening on that cashier/checkout counter is so complicated. now, with every swipe of a bar code, i think i might cry. hehehe!

by the way, i met the newbie this morning. guy again. so that makes me the official muse na nga. =P he's probably about my age, or at most a couple years older. he's working on a different project, a java one. mine is c++.
