molumpia and abstinence meals
ground beef. easy to prepare. freeze-able.
with such limited info on what i have on the fridge, i have to make dinner out of it. but not just for tonight, but for the other non-Friday nights when we'll have limited time to prepare it. so i opted to make lumpiang shanghai. i can freeze it. and you just have to fry it when you want some.
so off i went to the oriental store and searched for lumpia wrappers. then a sudden craving for siomai hit me. it looks like it's gonna be easy to prepare too. i can freeze it, and just steam it when we want some.
but my main problem is i don't know if the wrap for siomai is the same as with lumpiang shanghai. in Pinas, lumpia wrappers in wet markets are so thin they are like onion skins. but here, they are a bit thicker, like the ones you use on lumpiang sariwa. all i know is that they call siomai wrappers "molo" back home.
i couldn't call mama coz she's probably still asleep. and i don't know how to ask for the molo wrappers, coz i don't know its english name. if i'd tell them dumpling wraps, they would give me the same thing. so i just bought the lumpia wrappers and prayed it will work.
i am yet to find out if it will. hehe! =P
anyways, i'm just wondering what people eat on lenten Fridays. we stocked up on fish (tilapia fillets), shrimp and crab meat. we already had tortang alimasag last friday, so in 2 days' time, i will need to pull out another magic trick. any inputs? =)

Try veggie, like ginataang shrimp, calabasa, langka, and green beans. It's so easy to prepare. Let me know if you need the recipe ;-)
