crash
no need to worry, we didn't get into a vehicular accident or something. it's the title of the movie i'm gonna recommend to you guys. crash. i believe they've released this on theaters last year.
it was a great movie. straight, in-your-face kind of movie that will give you a ticket to a rollercoaster ride of emotions. it starred lots of big names too, but all of them blended together, i think nobody stood out as the main star, giving you more chance to focus on the plots and subplots of the characters they portray.
it deals with the racial discrimination problem in the US. you might find this subject neutral, if not boring. but when you watch this movie, you become "race-less". you can relate with them at one point or another. it will leave you defending one character from the other, or justifying their actions, or regretting the bad luck that pushed them to the edge. there are a lot of twists in the story, and the events just kept taking sharp turns and changing directions.
i don't want to spill any more info, i don't want to give out spoilers in case you might wanna check the movie out. but one thing is for sure, this is one movie i highly recommend. when je and i watched it, we were kinda speechless during the movie, but can't stop talking about it afterwards. it made me cry too, something that not many movies are successful in doing to me. =P
so check it out when you have time. the lenten season is probably the perfect time to catch it if you haven't seen it on theaters yet. when the tv stations shutdown, you can either watch reruns of noon time shows, or this. =)
