yep, it's not a re-post of a previous entry, nor was it a typo error. it was weed-pulling day of the season. =P
dahil sa takot ko na gapangan ng ahas yung backyard namin, kung sakaling nasa paligid pa rin yung anonymouse snake na nakita ko dati, we decided to kill all vegetation on our backyard, para kita agad yung ground. sounds easy? you bet! you bet it's NOT!
saturday, after lunch, we started working out on the yard. pulling weeds is not really fun, but thanks to my hubby's corny jokes, we had some form of entertainment. para kaming magsasaka, only reversed, instead of planting, we were uprooting anything green we see on the ground. after almost 6 hours of work and a big blister on je's left palm (may gamit syang pala para sa malalaking bunch ng weeds), we were done! to make sure na wala nang tutubo ulet, nag-spray pa kami ng herbicide (i wanted to try it on myself, see if it's also Harbicide). that was the first time i'm killing something deliberately, aside from the few times i murdered flying cockroaches, mosquitoes and spiders.
to reward ourselves for a job well-done, we went to IHOP (International House of Pancakes) to get some pancakes and crepes. but of course naligo muna kami. it was close to midnight, perfect time for pancakes? hehehe! it was heaven! pancakes with apple-cinnamon and caramel toppings, with whipped cream pa. may bacon, sausage links, eggs at hashbrowns din. all the calories we burnt on the yardwork, we charged up again dun sa IHOP. it was the earliest breakfast i ever had. hehehe!
anyways, sunday morning, we just stood by our French doors, looking over the backyard, and admiring the work we've done. all the time we were taking it all in, we were pounding on our aching backs.
