get on your feet

i'm back to my old self, after that emotionally draining episode. it took me a while to gather up my thoughts and re-assess my situation. but being busy at work helped me divert my attention until, as bevs said, the pain doesn't hurt as much na. thanks friends. i blame chemical imbalance for that episode.

and now am back! get on your feet drama chuva. hehehe!

updates muna:

thrill rides
one of my SG-friends paid a visit to us nung week before my epi. hehe! thrill rides galore... busch gardens and universal studios. a trip to the Dali museum, a stand-up comedy show, the ubiquitous first Hooters resto trip, and inuman sa bahay. i totally had a great time!

tito ebet meet and greet
yeah, tito ebet and his entire family stayed at a resort in Disneyworld. since i don't have any vacation days left, je and i only drove to Orlando nung weekend to have dinner with them. had a nice time... dinner, then watched the fireworks at disney, then hang out lang sa hotel nila. i saw a giant version of my old Mickey Mouse phone toy!!! sa sobrang tuwa ko nagpapic talaga ako kahit gabi na. hahaha! i'll try to post it some time.

first business trip
i was sent to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for a business trip. i was supposed to fly with an officemate, pero nasa Connecticut na sya when we got word na we need to make the trip. so yun, driving ang drama nya, ako naman fly-fly.

eto. i flew out of Tampa on Sept.11 ng umaga... on United Airways... heading to PA. wow. it didn't help my psyche that i was seated beside an Army guy in full camo uniform. if he has a target on his head and someone as much as nudges the shooter, malamang ako ang tamaan. but thankfully, my paranoia calmed down a bit when he was upgraded to First Class.

trip was cool. i feel so, business-y. hehe! company laptop in tow, reimbursible meals and snacks, in business casual attire. kulang na lang blackberry, i might pass for a real business woman on a mission. hehe!

from airport, straight to the client's office na kami (my officemate drove to the airport to pick me up). worked till past 4pm, checked in ako sa hotel, had dinner with my officemate, then binalik na ko sa hotel to rest. i stayed at the hotel alone, dahil merong mansion ang parents ng officemate ko an hour away from my hotel. he wanted to volunteer the 9-bedroom house, but was apprehensive kasi nga married ako and he is a guy. but i'm pretty comfortable around him naman, i won't mind staying at his family's estate pag bumalik ako don. =) his family's roots were in PA talaga, kaya they own acres and acres of land. he said from their estate's gates, you have to drive a mile to get to the house! woooow! =)

my hotel stay was uneventful... besides the fact na when i craved for McDo coffee around 9pm, i walked around the neighborhood and crossed the interstate.

on foot.
stupid, yes.
but the coffee is worth it! *lol*

i didn't ask for a rental car na kasi eh, since overnight lang naman and lagi naman kaming magkasama nung officemate ko. so ayun, tawid ako ng interstate in my bugs bunny tshirt and jogging pants. haha!

the next day, woke up early to get ready. just had breakfast sa hotel cafe, then my officemate picked me up and punta na kami sa client's office ulet. we fixed a bug on-the-spot, which is the highlight of the work. hehe! around 3pm, we had to leave for the airport na kasi my flight is 5pm.

pauwi, uneventful naman. was home by 11pm, hubby je and i dined out na lang kasi i told him not to use the stove at baka masunog nya ang buong bahay. =P

so there, my first business trip dito sa job ko. the Dayton experience years ago is so much different. even though that business trip lasted for half a year, and the travel is halfway through the globe, i still feel like this recent 2-day trip is more intense. it felt good meeting with developers of another company and asking questions that made them think too. i'm fairly the newest member of our dev team, and the only girl, so i feel like i have a lot to prove. besides some deer jerky and Wilbur chocolates, i brought home a new-found confidence. ;-)

i am back on my feet once again. =)
