pir paktor

lunch time kanina... jon, one of the pinoys in the office called me up, nagyayaya sa pinoy resto. game naman ako... so i met him at the lobby after 5 minutes.

sumama si ate may. and ate may "dragged" along her teammate, an american as white as a cracker. =p who then saw someone he knows, and dragged him into the group as well. so there we were, 3 pinoys, 2 americans. just then, jon remembered one of his friends too, who happened to be my tech lead. so yown... 3 on 3. off we go sa aming Fear Factor lunch.

btw, kuya fred didn't make it. dunno if he's in the office nga eh, he's not picking up his cell, nor his extension.

pagpasok pa lang sa pinoy resto (regina's), ang inet! at amoy ginisa. hahaha! well, for us pinoys, mabango yon! but to americans, i'm not so sure.

so diretso kami sa "karinderya" section to pick our food. we'd get 2 cups of rice and 2 viands for $5. among the ulam kanina... dinuguan, bistek, sarsyadong isda, pancit canton, pinakbet, ginisang kalabasa at sitaw, chicken sopas, at adobo.

AM1 got sopas + adobo
AM2 got pansit canton + adobo
AM3 got pansit canton + ginisang kalabasa at sitaw

Noypi1 got bistek + dinuguan
Noypi2 got bistek + dinuguan
Noypi3 got bistek + ginisang kalabasa at sitaw

all is well... kain, kuwentuhan in english, tawanan. then, my tech lead got curious about that black food sitting on my plate. ano daw yun. sabi ko pork meat. bakit daw itim? sabi ko it's cooked in pig blood.

silence.

bulging eyes.

"what?!"

hahaha! it was so hilarious when they found out what it was. they were too polite to ask the karinderya lady ata nung pumipili pa lang sila eh. (karinderya lady whose name is Nora, and we call her Ate Aunor, haha!)

so ang aking magiting na tech lead, humingi sa akin. hinayaan ko syang kumuha ng dinuguan para mapili nya kung yung lean meat or yung may onting taba.

nilagay nya sa kanin. hinalo. sinubo. pumikit. ngumuya twice. lumunok. *lol*

and he was disappointed. he was expecting he's gonna throw up daw. "distinct, interesting taste" ang sabi nya.

he took a second spoonful, and this time he chewed it longer. he finally realized he's eating pig blood, sabay lunok. hahaha!

we finished lunch without having to call 911 for any of them. when we got back to the office, he was bragging about the pig blood he just ate. well, he earned the bragging rights. =D

i had to give it to him for trying dinuguan. he's officially the more adventurous eater compared to my director, who once had wild boar meat at a steak house. =P

welcome to Regina's Pir Paktor resto.
