my inaanak's pics
i haven't officially taken the "responsibility" of being one of Baby Nathan's godmoms, but i do received the "notice of invitation" to be one, from his mom herself! =)
erlyn and i have a high school pact that whoever gets to have a child first, will take the "slow" one (who happens to be me! akalain mo yon! hehe!) as her kid's godmom. i received an email from erlyn last night, telling me that she just wanted to remind me of that pact we made years ago. gosh, noon ko lang na-realize, maygad, yung binibiro-biro namin noon, mga wishful thinking namin, eto na, staring back at us, right on the face! hehehe! of course i feel honored to be asked, with or without a pact. =) it just feels good too, that even after so many years have passed, and so many changes that took place, we still have our little pact, and her little guy is the one who brought it back to life. =) it's like unearthing, and opening a once-buried treasure chest, when all you are expecting is digging a hole on the ground for a new plant.
if i remember it right, we made several "versions" of that pact, with aine. i remember waiting in front of the hs building, right where the wheelchair access is located, near the phone booth. and the 3 of us just got back from aine's place ata, or papunta pa lang ata. (memory gap). we started calling each other "mare", and the talk came to life. that for my first born, i will get aine as ninang, and for my bunso, erlyn. i also remember all of us arguing that once you get someone as ninang for your kid, you can't be ninang of that person's kid in the future. so if my memory serves me right, this is when we came up with "whoever gets there first", gets the upperhand. hehehe! knowing me and erlyn who loved burning phone lines in our hs days, we probably got more revisions in place. but the main thought is there. and that particular get-together in front of the hs building is the one my memory presents. i probably got the place and the event wrong, but something at the back of my mind paints that picture, so it must be it. hehehe!
so there, i got the invitation, being the slow one. hehehe! and even if i have the option to say No, i wouldn't. who can resist being a godmom to a cute little angel like this:

that's baby Paul Nathan, who made her mom cry at the delivery room, laboring for 10 hours. =P
here's a few more pics of him... i had the permission of my kumare to post them on my blog. hehehe! naks, kumare talaga! =D i wonder if we had a clause on our pact that if one happens to misbehave, then her chances of being a godmom gets forfeited? after all, i only have one (or two?) driving ticket(s) on record, and nothing else. i can still serve as a good example. or if not, at least serve as a bad example NOT TO FOLLOW. hehe!
